Mutt Approved. Shooting the Moholo with Dani, Nono & Pip.
They barked. We listened.
Or at least, the popularity of our Moholo Dog Blankets didn’t go unnoticed by our team… So we took the Moholo back to the drawing board, and returned with four pet-proof shades. Paw-fect.
Here to make your doggo dreams come true, meet Mandarin, Mulberry and Marula.
Now available in small and large breed sizes.
But every new Moholo needs a model…
So that’s where we recruited the help of Plettenberg Bay-based photographer, Sharyn Hodges, who just so happens to be the mom of 3 Golden Retrievers.
Q: Introduce us to the pack.
A: First there’s Dani. AKA Oupa. AKA Fatso. AKA Grumpy. This dog is obsessed with me – I can’t go anywhere without him following me around. He’s also obsessed with food.
Then there’s Pip. AKA Queenie Panini. The most sensitive soul doggo ever. We joke he’s everyone’s girlfriend. Unlike Dani, not too keen on food. But beach, a ball and a stick? Loooves it.
Then Nono. AKA Tickie, Noot Noot or Life of Pye. He’s proof that the youngest child is indeed the spoilt brat. This dogs is nuts (but we love him!). He cries for everything… for attention, for food, for the beach…
Q: Were the dogs willing participants? Did they need lots of coercing?
A: Ha ha ha! Oh my shattered nerves. On Keurboomstrand I forgot the treats, which made our job a lot harder. WOW. I was crawling on all fours trying to get shots. All they wanted to do was dig holes and play in the sand…
Q: Talk us through the shoot locations.
A: First we went to Keurboomstrand. Then we took Pip (the one that behaves) to Nature’s Valley – one of the rare locations in South Africa that offers mountains, indigenous forests, lagoon, beach and sea. A versatile setting for a versatile blanket! He was very well behaved.
Q: Share your thoughts on the trusty but true saying “a dog is a man’s best friend.”
A: Honestly I prefer spending time with my dogs than anyone else. Getting home from work and being pounced on my three monster dogs with slobber and hair is literally my favourite thing. They are beyond loyal. Even if they are naughty and getting shouted at, 20 minutes later they are lying next to you, wanting and giving love.
Q: Thoughts on the new Moholo?
A: Such a welcome addition to my home! I love that they are so colourful. And the quality is… the Mungo quality! I have washed them a few times and the colours have not faded. Nor have they shrunk or unravelled. As if I got them yesterday!
Q: Thoughts on the new Moholo from the hounds?
A: Nono is sleeping on his as we speak…
