Set your sights on the Cypress…
Picturesque Plettenberg Bay, where our mill and flagship store is based, is a hiker’s paradise where verdant mountains meet cerulean seas.
Our own designer, Lenore, is herself an avid ambler, spending much time meandering the Garden Route’s rugged coastline. Inspired by the area’s craggy outcrops, dense forests and crashing seas, she came to the Mungo design office with a revived palette for one one of our best-selling blankets – the Vrou Vrou.
On the newest Cypress colourway, warm and cool tones intersect, creating a tapestry of oranges, blues and greens reminiscent of the landscape.
The Garden Route offers an amazing colour palette, straddling between dense forests, textured rock faces and exquisite pools where
you can find the most brilliant array of plum anemones.
The inspiration for this Vrou Vrou colour is a mixture of all these terrains – the deep forest green combined with viridescent shades from shallow pools, punctuated by the bright orange of the sea star which has become synonymous with the rock pools of the Western Cape.”

cypress
/ˈsʌɪprəs/
noun: cypress tree
1. an evergreen coniferous tree
Much like the evergreen tree from which it takes its name, the new Cypress Vrou Vrou will stay much loved through the seasons.
It’s thick textural weave adds cosy comfort in the cooler months. Woven with pure cotton yarn using a pocket- weave structure, the Vrou Vrou works exceptionally well as a breathable summer bedcover too.
