100% cotton kikoi. Designed by Zodwa Maduna, woven by us, and sold to help support better education in Plettenberg Bay.
Every year we invite the grade 8 class from the Crags Primary to the Mungo Mill, for a workshop that educates the students on how textiles are, and more importantly should, be made.
Each student designs a kikoi. One colourway is chosen and put into production.
‘Beach Nature’ concludes our 2023 workshop, designed and named by Zodwa Maduna. The full proceeds from its sale help to fund a much-needed additional teacher at her school.
The Kids of Kurland Kikoi is an annual project that is organised by MOVE, our internal Social Responsibility Initiative. Since 2018, 1% of all profit is put towards initiatives that empower and uplift the Plettenberg Bay community in which our mill and flagship store is based.
Thank you for considering a purchase with a purpose.
Film taken at our inaugural Kids of Kurland Kikoi Project in 2018. Featuring the ‘Hope Kikoi’ by Hope David.
