Washing

Wash your Mungo product on a cold or cool cycle (30-40 degrees).

Use mild/natural detergents.

Avoid using softeners. Whilst these may create a soft feeling initially, over time they leave behind deposits that build up on the fibres surface, creating a barrier that affects a towel’s absorption and damages the fibres.

Always wash light and dark colours separately to prevent colour transfer.

Do not overcrowd the washing machine.

Do not bleach.

Drying

Line dry.

Low-heat tumble dry if needed.

Although all our products are tested for strong colour fastness, prolonged sun exposure will cause fading over time. Where possible, dry in shade.

Do not dry clean.

Line dry recommended. Line drying is kinder to both the product and the environment. As a breathable fibre, linen will air dry with relative ease – and will give your linen a slightly crisper feel. If a softer feel is desired, or more urgent drying needed, tumble dry on a low heat. However please note that heavy and regular tumble drying will add to the wear of linen; use cautiously to ensure the longest lifespan for your linen.

Linen Longevity

Although linen is considered to be a durable fabric, like all fibres it isn’t exempt from wear and tear with time, constant use and incorrect care.

Due to the strain they come under, fitted sheets can show signs of wear earlier than duvet covers, flat sheets or pillowcases. In order to extend the longevity of your fitted sheets, we suggest purchasing more than one fitted sheet to alternate between uses.

Do not bleach your Mungo product, and avoid detergents with optic whiteners.

Should you stain your Mungo textile, using a bit of Vanish usually does the trick.

Please note that we cannot be held accountable for stains or discoloration that occurs during the washing. From time to time, it may be advisable to run a clear cycle through your washing machine (a cup of vinegar added here is helpful) to remove any build up or residue.

Try to treat any stains as soon as possible, and before laundering.
